April 4th found many FTVA members with happy smiles at the Kelly Club gathered for our annual spring social. Over 70 folks arrived to find the familiar face of Ken Williams with a warm welcome and a name tag. After Joe Hurst led the Pledge of Allegiance, AFISR Command Chaplain Col Wayne Knutson presented the Invocation and then FTVA President Chris Cook introduced many of the attendees..
The AFISR Agency has a large number of its people who are serving worldwide in support of the counterinsurgency operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Once again, a highlight of the evening was when the FTVA recognized a small representative number of recent AFISR Agency returnees from the Afghanistan/Iraq area. To say "thank you", Membership Chairman Kenny O'Neal presented each of these Agency representative with a monogrammed FTVA hat and memorial coin.
Long-time FTVA members attending the Social enjoyed a buffet while visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. President Chris Cook introduced Maj Gen Bradley A. Heithold, new commander of AFISR Agency as our guest speaker.
